ACORAB in collaboration with BBC Media Action, the Social Market Management and Fund Raising Training for the Eastern Region Community Radios' station managers concluded on 28-31 of January in Itahari. Total 26 community radio stationed managers of the Eastern Region have participated in the training. The main objectives of the training was to explore the new marketing opportunities in local, national and international level. The training was conducted in participatory approach and each participants has got opportunity to shared their experiences and strengths of community radios. They have created the new vision for the marketing and to achieve the vision they identified the required change areas for community radios. Based on discovered strengths, vision and identified changes domain, they developed the action plan for marketing of the community radios. This training also redefined the community radios as sources of community benefit organization.
The training was facilitated by Mr. Subash Khatiwada treasure of ACORAB, RC Lamichhane Executive Director of ACORAB, Mr. Soham Subedi the Coordinator of CIN, Mr. Ram Prasad Gajurel, the Management experts of Agriculture Development Bank. Senior program officer Serena and Rajani Humagain shared their reflection in the training.
During the closing session of the training, ACORAB treasure Mr. Subash Khatiwada handed over the set of toolkits for the regional hub. The Radio Makalu Dhankuta selected to host the regional hub for 3 years.
The training session inaugurated by the ACORAB vice president Mr. Arjun Rai and he also address the closing speech in the training with his observation speech.
