The 6th anniversary of Community Information Network (CIN) is celebrated in Kathmandu by organizing an interaction function on 'Role of Community Radios during disaster' on May 29, 2015. Honorable Deputy Prime Minister of Nepal Bamdev Gautam attended a function as chief guest. Gautam praised the role of community radio stations for providing interrupted information broadcasting and also assured to provide support earthquake affected radios. Likewise, Krishna Hari Baskota, Chief Commissioner of National Information Council, Borna Karki, President of Press Council Nepal, Dr. Mahendra Bista, President of Federation of Nepalese Broadcasters (FNJ) also participated and spoke about the role of community radios. Mohan Chapagain, President of ACORAB chaired te program, Govinda Devkota, General Secretary of ACORAB facilitated the program and Soham Subedi, Coordinator of CIN presented a glimpse of six years of about journey of CIN. The program was live-casted from all community radios across Nepal.
In the program, Deputy Prime Minister Gautam unveiled a handbook for journalists for reporting during disasters. This guideline is translated and adapted in Nepali by Internews. ACORAB has been distributing the content online.
