ACORAB Nepal and AIBD jointly conducted five days Radio and Social Media training from 23 to 27 November in Kathamandu. The training was focused on the changing media landscape – disruptive technology and changing media consumption habits, the new tools of trade, storytelling and planning, Old Principles, New Techniques - Socializing new media content. The training program facilitated by Mr. Steve Aharm. The training focused on practical aspects of the subject matters where the participants were engaged with group work and individual tasks in addition to relevant theoretical aspects within the whole training session. The course was designed to motivate Nepal's community radio to be engaged with audiences by using social media, which will ultimately benefit both audiences and radio stations. Altogether 21 participants participated in the program.
During a presentation at the end of the course, Hon' ble Minister of Information and Communication Mr Sherdhan Rai, invited as chief guest in closing session. The Minister Rai said that community radio is powerful tools for information sharing and request representative of community radio to disseminate information of new constitution to community properly. Minister Rai also said that participants should applied skill and learning of training in practice. During the session, Minister Rai distributed certificate to the participants. At the end of the session, Mr. Mohan Chapagain, president of ACORAB Nepal, give thank to Hon'ble Minister for acceptance of our invitation and Mr. Steve for successfully conducting training program.
